Cooper’s hawks have been nesting in our tiny forest for many years. It’s a pretty nice set-up for them, large conifers for nesting, pond for water and plenty of small rodents and birds (I don’t like witnessing the hunting part but it’s part of nature). When they visit our pond I try to grab my camera and snap a few photos. This adult male was here last night just before dusk. I believe the immature, below, is from last year’s clutch. The clutch is normally between 3-6 eggs. This time of the year we can hear their loud “cak-cak-cak” uttered when defending the nest.

The Hawk symbolizes the ability to use intuition and higher vision in order to complete tasks or make important decisions.
