This glorious, old-time classic is thriving this year. It seems to enjoy the misty, cool weather we’ve been having here in Port Townsend.

Both photos were taken during “magic hour,” that special time just before sunset and right after sunrise. This first one captures the feathery, airy-lightness of the petals above the fatter, lower ones.

I was taken with the luminosity of the the second photo. The flower seems to glow from within.

For me, they both radiate a feeling of optimism during this obscure time. May their beauty uplift you as well.

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed the photos.

Stay safe, stay well!
