Peonies, a symbol of prosperity, honor, compassion, good fortune and romance. Crisp aroma, a mingle of rose, jasmine and carnations. June blooms adorn wedding bouquets and often given on the 12th wedding anniversary, signifying a happy marriage.

This “Shirley Temple” peony lives in a pot on our deck. Unlike a rose, its lovely, fragrant blooms fade quickly. These photos were taken within a day of each other, during and after spring showers.
