Golden-mantled ground squirrel at Lake Wenatchee

I have fond memories of our little campsite host, a golden-mantled ground squirrel, at Lake Wenatchee last summer. He was living in the log bordering our site.

Very friendly and entertaining, as most critters in campgrounds tend to be, looking for handouts.

Now his memory lives on in this painting I just finished.
